These are just some of the things that were said by students of The Governor's School for the Arts after our first master class with up-and-coming opera superstar, Wes Mason.
One of the things we are most proud of at Tidewater Opera Initiative is our commitment to fostering the next generation of singing actors. Our partnership with the Governor's School gives their students the opportunity to perform in these master classes, as well as being involved in our fully staged and costumed production of an opera from the popular repertoire. The hands-on experience and knowledge these students gain will be invaluable to them as they further their singing careers.

Star mezzo-soprano and Chesapeake-native, Robynne Redmon, came to town recently and gave an awesome master class for several Apprentice Artists!

Our second master class was a resounding success! Governor's School students who sang in the chorus of our production of Cosi fan tutte had the opportunity to perform for Scott Williamson (general and artistic director of Opera Roanoke) and his wife, renown soprano Amy Cofield Williamson. Here are some shots of the kids in action!
